I have been practicing the art of mosaic since 2004 after taking a class to make a mosaic table.  I was working as a systems manager in the newspaper industry and was in need of an artistic outlet.  After moving to Battle Ground from Sacramento, CA in 2008, I had a studio space and my involvement in mosaic increased.  I started out working with broken china, beads, buttons, and Italian glass tiles.  In the last 2 years I have expanded my craft to work with broken pottery and stained glass.  I love working with all manner of recycled materials and am always looking to learn new techniques and work with new materials.  I feel that my art is a tribute to my father who worked 60 plus years as a master terrazzo, marble and tile craftsman.  Artisan would be a more appropriate term. He did high quality work for banks, casinos and custom homes for selected clients.  I owe my passion for mosaic to my father, who was happy and proud to pass that on to me.
