Invitation to Artists

Eligibility
  • Members of BGAA or residents of SW Washington at least 18 years of age
 
Entries Accepted
  • Up to three entries of original art designed and produced by the artist
  • Artwork must be appropriately family friendly
  • Must be current work done within the last 2 years
  • Two dimensional (2D) and three dimensional (3D) in any media
  • One 2D entry not exceeding 38” in any direction including frame;a second no exceeding 30" in any direction including frame and a third not exceeding 24” in any direction including frame, and not exceeding 25 lbs.
  • 2D securely wired for hanging (no sawtooth hangers or clips)
  • 3D not exceeding 40 lbs.
 
Media Not Accepted
  • Artwork entered in a prior BGAA show
  • Kits, commercially made items, reproductions
  • Tryptych or assemblages
  • BGAA has the right to reject any artwork deemed inappropriate
Theme
  • One of the three entries allowed may be submitted for the theme category of " Flights of Fancy "
 
Awards
  • First, second and third place awards each in 2D and 3D categories
  • Best of Show
  • People's Choice
  • Best Interpretation of Theme
  • Sponsor awards
 
Sales
  • Include sales tax in asking price. Artist responsible for compliance with state tax requirements.
  • BGAA accepts 25% commission on all sales.
  • Checks will be mailed to artists within 10 days.
 
How to Enter
  • Fill out all parts of entry form for each piece entered, completely and legibly.
  • Bring work to the Community Center Friday, March 17 between 9AM and 1PM to be juried.
  • Artists of unaccepted work will be notified by 7PM, and that work must be picked up by 12PM Saturday, March 19.
  • Submit $30 fee for first piece and $5 for each additional; BGAA members $20 for first piece and $5 for each additional.  Cash or check only.
 
Show Hours
  • Saturday, March 18 show open 10AM to 8PM; Artists' Reception 6 to 8PM; Awards Presentation 6:30 to 7PM
  • Sunday, March 19 show open 11AM to 3PM; Artists pick up work between 3:15 and 4PM
 
Responsibilities
  • Work left after 4PM Sunday will be charged a storage fee of $10 per day. Artist must contact BGAA to arrange later pickup.
  • Every precaution will be taken to protect entries; however, BGAA and the Battle Ground Community Center assume no responsibility in case of loss or damage
  • Entry in the show gives BGAA permission to use any photographic images taken of that work for the sole purpose of promoting BGAA.
